Lightkeepers

Body / Face / Prop Rig • Buck Rigging Tools

The Lightkeepers project was the first project where I rigged a full character from start to finish. I really enjoyed the whole process from placing the joints, skinning the mesh, adding helper joints, and finally correctives for the Worker character. It helped me to understand the whole flow from the beginning to the end.

Worker face deformations
Harness rig

Worker

For the Worker character, I was tasked with fully rigging the character froms start to finish:

  • Joint Placement
  • Skinning
  • Helper Joints
  • Correctives for face and body
  • The harness prop was also a fun challenge to rig because of all the moving parts.

Other Characters

I had fun rigging the face for the Teacher and Shopkeeper characters. I worked on the joint placements and skinning for the faces, but unfortunately there wasn't enough time to give them clean deformations with correctives.

Props

I came up with some creative solutions for rigging various props. I really enjoyed rigging the tote bag, which required specific behavior to open and close as the animator requested. The examination chair was also interesting because of how I needed to combine a cloth rig with a simple fk rig.
