This was my first ever character model that was done during the Intermdeiate Modeling class at Animschool with Christopher Wright as my instructor. This class really made me fall in love with character modeling from sculpting the body to modeling the clothing!

Sculpt Breakdown

  • Block-in: A rough block-in starting with low poly geometric shapes
  • Block-in 2: More resolution and shaping
  • Hands: Sculpting hands with the correct proportions
  • Head sculpt: Sculpt head with the block-in as a starting point
  • Head color: Give the face some color
  • Hair: Sculpt the hair using a buffer
  • Clothing: Modeled clothing in maya first, then added details with Zbrush
  • Pose: Final posing was done in Zbrush, then rendered in Maya
